Hello substackers,
Another week has come and again, sorry for the lateness.
Hope everyone had a great Halloween 🎃 weekend out there.
Got something to express here. I love reading comics, and for some reason or another, it never seem to fail me. As a fan of all things entertainment, my first thing I was into other than watching cartoons was reading comics. With the advent of reading on my tablet, I still go to my favorite comic book store and either buy them as they come out or just get books from a pull list, a practice i barely do.
Sometimes, if I have the cash, I go to various stores in the city just to see what's going on or just read the stuff i already have of which i know many of you have done since covid began as the various stores and the industry itself went down south very quickly.
No business or industry was safe from what has happened. As this and every business and industry are bouncing back after almost two years of emptiness on the streets and increasing uncertainty, it seems that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. After being vaccinated since early April into May, I feel optimistic about how things are going and how society can bounce back from it; but there are those days when I’m not so sure. Public outcry over mandates, violence towards citizens toward each other and police, and public workers walking out of their jobs.
There is a light at the end of this tunnel, we all need to do what we’re supposed to do to walk towards it.
Books to read this week:
The Blue Baron #1 (Sitcomics)
This book is a great 64 page read. Think the disney classic Freaky Friday with a superhero vibe to it.
Adventureman #5 and #6 (Image Comics)
Continuing the story in the first issues of this story about a woman continuing in her father’s footsteps as a globe trotting adventurer.
The Human Target #1 (DC)
Tom King and Greg Smallwood’s take on the adventures of the master of disguise himself, Christopher Change, as he takes on his toughest case yet, sloving his own murder.
Nothing else to say here. See you all next time.
