Dedicated to the memory of John Romita Sr.
Hello out there
I would like to say hello and sorry for the long delay. Been trying to handle family things and trying to handle myself psychically and mentally and working on making my life work as I’m trying to still adjust to life as a middle aged man. You can take this as a season two of this newsletter. Read on for what I’ve been up to these days.
Here’s what I’m up to these days:
Still trying to figure out how to work around my illness and coping with it. In case you really wanna know… I rather not say for now since substack is not made for that.
Art is still my thing to get done ASAP and it’s coming along well. I’m doing some time at Community Access as a artist and a volunteer just to pass the time and looking at getting a regular job whatever that means. It’s been a year since i’ve graduated from school and I’ve yet to do something about getting something to pay the bills.
Still working on my comic, slowly, but it will get done. More on that soon enough along with other things.
Books I’m looking forward to reading
This will be a section on an almost regular basis in which I let you the reader know what I will buy on Wednesday afternoon at the comic shop I will go. My personal place to shop is Midtown Comics at it’s flagship store on Broadway and 40th street above the subway entrance. If not there are other stores in the city I often shop as well.
The R.I.G.H.T. Project
I guess I have to buy this book this week: A series that orginally was to be published by Image Comics X amount of years ago, and will finally see the light of day thanks to Apex Comics Group and American Mythology Publications. Written by former writer and editor in chief at Marvel and other fellow former creators at Marvel Ron Frenz and Sal Busema doing the art duties.
Ryu from Street Fighter. Done in 2018.
My brother DJ Chris Cues. Check him at a party near you.
Next time, more of me and telling you my life as a semi retired collector and reader.
